NH Army National Guard - UH-60 Black Hawk FRIES Aerial Demo

UH-60 Black Hawk

Flying the UH-60 Black Hawk, the New Hampshire Army National Guard will show Air Show fans the Fast Rope Insertion Extraction System, or F.R.I.E.S..

F.R.I.E.S. is a thick rope system that extends from the helicopter to the ground. It allows up to six soldiers to quickly evacuate the helicopter into small spaces where a helicopter can't safely touch down. This system is designed to cut down on the time the helicopter is hovering over one spot and keep everyone safe during their quick exit.
